Fox 19 needs viewers so badly that they’re dangling $1,000,000 for anyone who can guess anchor Tricia Macke’s middle name. You may have seen it advertised during the Super Bowl.
$1,000,000 is a lot of money. But there’s not only a catch, there’s an entire list of catches:
- The contest is hidden on Fox 19′s website. The only way you can get to it is by first “liking” their Facebook page.
- You then enter your standard personal contact info and take your guess. In the process you also have to tell Cincinnati Bell who your wireless carrier is.
- Did you get her middle name right? Great! You still haven’t won. Because you now have to be randomly selected in a drawing among everyone else who guessed correctly.
- If you’re the finalist, you still haven’t won the $1,000,000! Get a load of this shit sandwich buried in the official contest rules..
Got it so far? You not only have to guess her name, you have to win a drawing, and then you have to pick three envelopes from a stack and pray that the numbers inside add up exactly to $1,900. How hard could that be?
And there you have it. Even if you get this far, your odds of actually winning that $1,000,000 are one in 1,140. Enter now!

I would like to add that the next person who comments on the page will be entered into a drawing. The entry will be tossed into the Ohio river and forgotten about for 19 years. If after 19 years the entry can be recovered, this person will be selected as the “grand prize finalist”. At this point, the finalist will choose from 19 different envelopes. If the envelope they choose contains a decoded message from an ancient civilzation written on a microscopic granule of dust, the finalist will be awarded the grand prize: a CinAwesome t-shirt.
